Plus 3 Pieces of Big News
Dear friends,
We are roaring into the home stretch of this campaign, and I’m happy to announce three exciting developments:
- We filed 5,500 signatures to get on the ballot. New York State Election Law requires 900. Ours was six times the number needed and the highest number of any of the challengers in this race. Here are two short video clips: http://www.pjkim.com/videos-from-filing-day
- The first major labor union endorsement was made in this race – and we won it! DC 37 is the largest municipal workers’ union in NYC and we were one of only 4 challengers they endorsed out of 51 races.
- We have the most cash-on-hand of any of the campaigns (double what the incumbent has) and will also soon be receiving the maximum amount of public matching funds of $88,550.
We are now focused on reaching voters with our message. I need your help to reach them. The math is very simple. We will win, if each of you can introduce me to 10 of your friends who are registered Democrats in Lower Manhattan and if you can commit to follow up with them so they vote for us on September 15. That’s it.
Here’s how you can help:
- Think of 10 friends who live in District 1 who may be registered Democrats (here’s a handy map with zip codes). Email their names to my campaign coordinator Mary Simon (Mary@PJKim.com). We’ll check to confirm whether they are eligible to vote for us on September 15.
- Introduce us to them via email (we can send a template) so that we can follow up with them and answer any questions they may have about specific issues. Don’t hesitate to share my campaign’s number (646-452-9484) and e-mail (PJ@PJKIM.Com).
- Follow up with them in the days leading up to election day to let them know their voting location (which we will send you) and then do a final reminder on election day.
If you can do this, we will win.
Thank you so much for your help!
-PJ
